Docs needed for Colorado IRP
1. COPY OF VEHICLE TITLE
Colorado title or out-of-state title (copy of front & back). If weight is not listed on out-of-state title, a weight slip will be required. If the owner on the title is not the same as the registrant, a Lease Agreement is required.
2. PROOF OF COLORADO RESIDENCY
Three (3) proofs of address are required. Acceptable proofs: Colorado Driver's license, Federal Income Tax, Articles of Incorporation, Property Tax, Utility Bill (gas, electric, sewer & water, waste), Vehicle Title, Apartment Lease, Business License
3. SAFETY CARRIER INFO
Motor Carrier's USDOT # and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) is required.
4. COLORADO IRP APPLICATION
Form DR 7553
5. IRS FORM 2290 HEAVY HWY USE TAX
Required for trucks with gross weight (GW) over 55,000 lbs. and purchased more than 60 days ago. MR IRP can assist with filing this form if you do not have it.
6. LETTER OF AUTHORIZATION
To allow MR IRP obtain IRP plates and registration for you from Colorado IRP Department.
7. PROOF OF EMISSION TEST
Required only for the following counties: Boulder County, Broomfield County, Denver County, Douglas County, Jefferson County, Adams County Arapahoe County, Larimer County, Weld County and El Paso County. You can visit https://dmv.colorado.gov/diesel-vehicles to verify your address if you are unsure if you require an emissions test. Vehicles year 1-4 are exempt.
